Organization Profile

The Albion Public Library works to keep the library fresh and relevant in the quickly changing world by embracing new technology and providing fun, learning based programming for people of all ages. It takes the generous help of our patrons to continue the modernization of our historic space.

The Albion Public Library offers a variety of services including: Audio books, magazines, puzzles, DVDs, Public computers, printers, scanner, laptops, online card catalog, Nebraska Overdrive database, and many children & adult programs.

Previous BC Big Give projects include the digitization of the Albion News archives, which has allowed individuals from around the country to reconnect with their Albion roots. And creating a second functional bathroom in the library, bringing the original basement closer to functional use. Also, replaced the shelving and computer desks on the main floor of the library. The new shelves and desks will match the updated children's, and young adult shelving in those sections.

Project Description

The Albion Public Library is raising funds for “Grab and Go Packs”. Needing something to do for the weekend or a road trip? The Albion Public Library would like to help. We are raising money to put packs together for on the go. These would include Binge Boxes, Boovie Bags, and Are We There Yet? Bags. Binge Boxes would be filled with a movie series or theme (five to six DVDs) all in one box. Boovie Bags are the Book plus the movie that it inspired. Are We There Yet? Bags, are bags for on the go. Perfect for road trips. We will have adult, young adult and kids bags. These bags will contain activities and games. All Grab and Go Packs would be checked out and returned to the Library.

“Trip Through Nebraska” display. Let’s celebrate Nebraska’s 150th Birthday. We will feature Nebraska based books along with other displays and refreshments. The display will be available from November 27th through December 2nd.
